30 June 2007 - West Sedgemoor reserve

Using the car as a hide in the rain helped me practise getting some closeup shots of wildlife coming to the carpark feeding stations...

This marsh tit came very close:

...but this jay was very shy...

...unlike the grey squirrels and juv. robins:

27-28 June 2007 - Hestercombe Gardens

27 June - Finally, a dry(ish) day. A school field trip to Hestercombe Gardens enabled me to get my camera out. But the only thing I managed to get a good shot of was this wood pigeon! Oh well, practice makes perfect!

28 June - It was kids' day today at Hestercombe Gardens, with fledgling birds calling from almost every tree. Like this robin...

...and a big group of long-tailed tits (they are very difficult to photograph - this bird was a long way away and swinging around the branch like a trapeze artist!)...

This fledged swallow was one of 3 sat on the orangery being fed by very busy adults (bottom):

And, aw...aren't these moorhen chicks cute - not when they're so tiny that it's almost impossible to focus on them!

There was also a couple of spotted flycatchers about...
