11 October 2007 - Curry Moor
This Great Bustard, from the Salisbury Plain birds, has been present for some days...

Any bird that can see off a swan deserves respect!
6 October 2007 - Meare Heath
Herons were being quite aggressive - a grey heron chased off the purple heron (which at last I saw briefly), and I quite liked the symmetry of these two grey herons that, after a prolonged chase, were squaring up to each other...

Also present were two green sandpiper, two ruff, many snipe and lapwing and at least 12 little egret. The pectoral sandpiper had shown earlier but, alas, not while I was there.
