This linnet at Huntspill Sluice was incredibly tame. Later, it allowed us to get so close that we switched to macro lenses (lower image).



25 July - 2 August 2008 - Northwest Brittany

A family holiday to France was brilliant but yielded very little in terms of birds. Highlights were a few Med gulls on the beach next to our gite in Santec, Finistere...

and this sacred ibis which turned up unexpectedly at Roscoff...


Birds-wise, that was pretty much it (apart from a great skua from the ferry and the usual zitting cisticolas). This ersey tiger moth, however, turned up posing nicely on the door of the gite and gave a chance to try out the new macro lens (underwing image taken through glass)...
